How does this process work? ND&A’s first step is to carefully review the funder’s RFP, if there is one, as well as any information available about the potential funder. Our next step is to gather information about our client’s organization and proposed project.

Grant Mentorship

No grant proposal is written in a vacuum. Ideas should be debated, paragraphs should be rewritten, and objectives should be re-evaluated. While this can be a tiring process, it is critically important. Fortunately, there is an increasingly popular method for making this process easier: Grant Mentors.

A Grant Mentor can be a colleague within your organization, a friend who works in a similar field, or a professional grant writer from ND&A. A grant mentor is someone who can review your proposal through the eyes of the funder and provide you with constructive feedback:

· Is the Project Summary comprehensive and compelling?
· Are the measurable outcomes detailed enough?
· Is our proposed project consistent with the funder’s goals?

Not even the most experienced grant writer should send a grant out the door without having it reviewed by someone as unfamiliar with the project as the potential funder. Grant Mentorship is a cost-effective way for you to ensure your organization is submitting an effective proposal while simultaneously strengthening your own understanding of the granting process.
